Thoughts while stuck at home on a rainy day:

• One, I’ve come to realize (with much facepalming) that I’ve always default-positioned myself as one big asymptote on any given relationship graph.
• Two, that the saddest point in the conversational parabola is just immediately after the vertex (maximum), when you realize that something made it cease to be as interesting or substantial as before. And you’re left thinking, “So that’s it? How disappointing.” Challenge lost. Meh.
• No, wait, three: I take that back. The saddest point, actually, is the moment you realize that your connection was a downward-opening (negative quadratic coefficient) parabola in the first place.
