You should never be with anyone who doesn’t make you feel like you’re the most interesting person in the world.

Still one of my favorite quotes. Besides, it’s from Roald Dahl, so. Obviously.
“Whatever industry you’re in, it’s so important to never lose that sparkle in your eyes, that jump in your step, that never-fading feeling of experiencing everything for the first time.
The moment we start feeling like we’ve seen this, we’ve been through this – we start making and settling into assumptions, we start getting comfortable with ‘how it’s always been done.’”
- From our Notes to Self column, Dec. 9, 2012
As my friend Anna once put it, “Hanap buhay – to look for life. It’s not ‘hanap pera’ for a good reason.”

We’ve hit the 10th week for my weekly column with Abbey Sy!

Started a new weekly column with Abbey a month ago. Giving Hallmark a run for their money. ;)
For real though, she’s got some mad hand-drawn typography skills! For more Notes to Self updates, click here.

This must be absolutely non-negotiable.
Anything less is just wasting your time and emotions.
Anything less and you should chuck a book at his head.

It’s been a while, hasn’t it?
Life has been resembling static noise lately, more visually than audibly, to be honest. My self-discipline is somewhere buried under all my clothes on top of my study table, and I’m afraid I won’t find it in time for my TEDx Talk this Saturday.
That, and I need a plus one for another Big Event on Wednesday.
Plus one imperatives didn’t use to bother me. They shouldn’t. Right?
Anyway, photo and type by me. Words from Amy Poehler’s commencement speech at Harvard.
Ideas need faith to fly.

Success isn’t just about what you do with your life, it’s about what you inspire others to do.

{ the downside of seoul }
There was only one bad thing about my Korea trip:
I came back an impatient, energized firecracker, with ten thousand ideas in mind, all fighting to be the first to be concretized. And all of a sudden, the place where I currently stand seems so small, so constricting.
“A mind that is stretched by a new experience can never go back to its old dimensions.” ~ Albert Einstein
